SURVEYING CONSULTANCY EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Winners of these prestigious awards have been consultancies achieving the highest level of excellence in the delivery of surveying services to communities across Australia, as well as those who have shown an outstanding commitment to business vitality and culture, business accreditation, staff development, community involvement, support for young professionals, and the professional image of surveying.

 

As the number of entries has increased, we are pleased to offer three categories based on the size of the surveying business:

  • Small Consultancy - 20 employees or less 

  • Medium Consultancy - 21 to 50 employees

  • Large Consultancy - 51 employees or more

The awards are open to any Australian land surveying consultancy business or multi-disciplinary organisations with a substantial land surveying business unit.​

 

2021 Key Dates:

  • Friday, 18th June - Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner

 

The awards are open to any Australian land surveying consultancy business or multi-disciplinary organisations with a substantial land surveying business unit.

The 2019 Winners

The 2019 Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards were presented at a Gala Awards Evening on Thursday 6th June at Customs House in Brisbane as part of the 2019 National Surveying Congress.

Congratulations to the following winners:

WINNER - SMALL CONSULTANCY CATEGORY  

AUSTRALIAN SURVEY SOLUTIONS

Divided into three categories by employee numbers, the winner of the Small Consultancy category was Australian Survey Solutions from Bowral in NSW. Paul Brandon and his wife Jane (centre) are extremely proud of the excellent team they have nurtured over the past nine years and the reputation they have created in their local area.

 

 

WINNER - MEDIUM CONSULTANCY CATEGORY  

SDG LAND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS

The winner of the Medium Consultancy Category was SDG Land Development Solutions (SDG) from Sydney in NSW. Craig Turner, Managing Director, and Gary Edwards, Director (pictured), proudly accepted the award on behalf of SDG, commenting that it's the commitment of their nearly 50 staff that has made this award possible.

 

 

WINNER - LARGE CONSULTANCY CATEGORY

TAYLORS

For the second year in a row, the winner of the Large Consultancy Category was TAYLORS, which is based in Victoria and has offices in Brisbane, Perth, Auckland, Christchurch and Jakarta. Astounded by this second win, a number of key personnel from the TAYLORS team were in attendance to celebrate their achievement (pictured).

 

 

With the highest number of entries ever submitted into the awards process and with the incredibly high calibre of entries, a number of Highly Commended Certificates were also awarded:

HIGHLY COMMENDED - MEDIUM

The Medium Consultancy Category saw two firms receive Highly Commended Certificates:
- LandTeam Australia, with three offices in Southern NSW.  Award accepted by Greg Goodman, Managing Director (pictured right)
- PHL Surveyors from Griffith in NSW.  Award accepted by Gary Polkinghorne, Director (pictured left)

 

 

HIGHLY COMMENDED - LARGE

In the Large Consultancy Category, Craig & Rhodes from Sydney in NSW received a Highly Commended Certificate, with Andrew Halmarick, Managing Director, accepting the award on behalf of Craig & Rhodes (pictured)

 

 


 

 

 

The 2018 Winners

The 2018 Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards were presented at a Gala Awards Evening on Thursday 22nd March at Dockside, Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour Sydney as part of the 2018 National Surveying Congress.

WINNER - SMALL CONSULTANCY CATEGORY

 

Proud joint winners in the Small Consultancy Category were form New South Wales.  Tuggerah based Trehy Ingold Neate (now Beveridge Williams & CO.) and Resource Design & Management from Coffs Harbour.  Both long-standing companies with a number of major projects in their portfolios, these two multidisciplinary organisations demonstrated a sophisticated level of commitment to qualify service delivery, development of staff, health and safety, training and business planning.

 

WINNER - LARGE CONSULTANCY       

Taking out the prize in the Large Consultancy category was Taylors.  Based in Victoria and with offices in Brisbane, Christchurc and Jakarta, Taylors is a multi-disiplinary development solution consultancy.  It provides a host of services including Master Planning and Urban Planning, Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering, Development Strategy an Project Management.

This organisation has been involved in number of large-scale, high-profile projects including the management of all surveying services for the Australia Grand Prix held last weekend in Melbourne.

 

 


 

The 2017 Winner

The professionalism of Australia’s surveying industry was on full display at the National Surveying Consultancy Awards 2017, which took place on the evening of Friday 17 March. Held during the Surveying 2017 National congress, these inaugural awards were established to recognise the peak surveying consultancies across the nation.  To acknowledge the efforts of consulting firms of all sizes, the awards were broken into two categories based on organizational size: Small Consultancies (15 employees or less) and Large Consultancies (greater than 15 employees).

 

WINNER - SMALL CONSULTANCY CATEGORY

Proud winner of the Small Consultancy Category was Tamworth based multi-disciplinary organisation, Mitchel Hanlon Consulting Pty Ltd. Established by Mitchel Hanlon in 2003, this company is committed to providing superior service to the Tamworth regional area, intrastate and across Australia.

The judging panel were impressed by the way in which Mitchel Hanlon, as the principal of the firm, demonstrated commitment to the profession through organisational involvement with industry and professional bodies. He is also committed to personal and company development through executive training, and implementation of a business management system that ensures quality outcomes for the client.



 

 

 

WINNER - LARGE CONSULTANCY  

Taking out the prize for the Large Consultancy category was Beveridge Williams. Established in Victoria and now with offices across Victoria and New South Wales, Beveridge Williams is a multi-disciplinary development consultancy. They provide a host of services including surveying, civil engineering, traffic and transport engineering, town planning, landscape architecture and urban design. 

The judging panel for the awards were impressed by the way Beveridge Williams demonstrated an extremely high level of service delivery, evidenced through an independent highly-complimentary client satisfaction feedback rating. It was noted that this company had also demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the re-generation of the profession through a well-developed graduate training program, and possessed a vibrant company culture which supports career development and staff retention.
